The Roles:
 
Youth Community Development Worker & Mentoring Programme Coordinator
  • Type: Permanent part-time employee (subject to ongoing funding)
  • Hours: Approx. 18 hours per month (average)
  • Workplace: Mostly at Colville Junction
  • What you’ll do: Plan and deliver youth activities, build relationships with rangatahi and whānau, ensure a safe, welcoming environment, and coordinate our youth mentoring relationships and reporting.

Kōrero and Care Coordinator
  • Type: Short-term contractor (34 weeks)
  • Hours: 5.5 hrs/week for 5 weeks (development & setup), then 3 hrs/week for 29 weeks
  • Workplace: At Colville Junction and in the community
  • What you’ll do:
    Kōrero and Care is a home-based wellbeing programme that offers gentle one-to-one listening, connection and support for older and isolated community members.
    You’ll plan and coordinate the initiative – including establishing and supporting an advisory group, managing contractors, and developing and implementing a pilot evaluation.

Living Heritage / Colville Heritage Project Worker
  • Type: Short-term contractor (project role)
  • Hours: 5.5 hrs/week for 21 weeks (with potential to extend if funding allows)
  • Workplace: At Colville Junction and in the community
  • What you’ll do:
    Living Heritage is a community project to gather, record, and share local stories and archives in ways that honour mana whenua and the wider Colville community.
    You’ll support collection, recording and sharing of local stories, working respectfully with local knowledge holders and using digital tools.

Team Assistant 
  • Type: Short term part-time employee (3-4 months)
  • Hours: 5.5 hrs/week
  • Workplace: At Colville Junction
  • What you’ll do: Provide practical administrative and logistical support (communications, basic data entry, helping keep things organised) and some community support at the Junction.

Community Worker
  • Type: Short-term employee (fixed-term to July 2026)
  • Hours: 5.5 hrs/week
  • Workplace: At Colville Junction
  • What you’ll do: Provide support, information, referrals and follow-up for community members and other community organisations who drop in or are referred.
